Eugene T. Mahoney State Park is a 700-acre park located along the Platte River in Nebraska with many year-round activities and amenities to enjoy such as: a hotel, restaurant, activities center, tennis center, miniature golf, disc golf, tennis center, hiking trails, observation deck, marina, and a ropes course.

Located in the middle of Virginia farming country, Belle Isle State Park is full of wetlands perfect for boating, fishing and bird watching.  Camp for a long weekend or enjoy overnight lodging at the Bel Air Guesthouse. Near the Wisconsin border in northern Illinois, Chain o’ Lakes State Park is like a forest preserve and waterpark rolled into one. Summer brings water-skiers and swimmers, while winter brings cross-country skiers and young sledders. Also offering archery, fishing, and hiking, the park has much to do year-round.

Milo McIver State Park provides visitors with access to the Clackamas River and Estacada Lake. The state park resides entirely within the state of Oregon. Other outdoor activities practiced within the state park include hiking, fishing, horseback riding, golfing, wildlife viewing, and camping.

Ledges State Park is not only one of Iowa’s first state parks, but it remains one of the most popular. Ledges is a short drive from Des Moines and gives visitors a unique look at the geographic remnants of prehistoric lakes, glaciers, and other long-gone natural wonders in the Midwest.

Assateague State Park located on Assateague island in Maryland offers a large campground and 2 miles of shoreline to enjoy beach activities while viewing the islands infamous feral horses. Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park features unique geological features in the East Fork of the Black River, forming swimming holes, pool plunges, and natural slides in this unique section of river in the Ozarks. The state park offers camping, equestrian and hiking trails, fishing, and picnic sites.

Bruneau Dunes State Park is a beautiful area full of desert wildlife as well as rolling sand dunes to explore. This park contains the tallest sand dune in North America standing at 470 feet above the rest of the desert. Spend your time here hiking the dunes, sandboarding, stargazing, or fishing and boating.
