WIldwood US RV Park itself is large enough to fit over 150 RV sites comfortably.  There is also an area for tents. Taylors Falls is a city in Chisago County, Minnesota, United States, located at the junction of the U.S. Highway 8 and Minnesota State Highway 95.  It is just north of the Twin cities, which is known as the major metropolitan area around the Mississippi and St. Croix rivers. One of the major cities, Saint Paul, is located 39 miles from Taylor Fall. Minneapolis, another major city in Minnesota, is located about 42 miles from Taylor Falls.

The location of Wildwood RV Park in the state of Minnesota brings on a wide range of weather conditions. The warmest months begin in mid-May and last through mid-September. During this time, visitors love to take advantage of all the lake and water activities. Beginning in November to March, the cold temperatures set in and the area will see an average of 35 degrees. The coldest month is in January and the snowfall season will last about 6 months. During the winter season, the number of outdoor activities is limited, but still a lovely place to be.

Wild Mountain

Wildwood RV Park offers VIP passes and a discounted price to enjoy Wild Mountain. It is located 55 miles north of Taylors Falls, MN. The ski terrain is an expansive 125 acres. The park features 4 terrain parks and 26 runs. All include a variety of jumps, rails, half pipes, and more. 

Swedish Immigrant Trail

The trail is 8.4-kilometer trail with 120 m elevation gain. It is lightly trafficked located near Wildwood RV Park. The trail is an out and back, making it a great opportunity to stumble across different wildlife. All skill levels are invited to experience this trail. 

Interstate Park

Interstate Park is a state park on the Minnesota-Wisconsin border. Technically, it is two different state parks, but both are named Interstate Park. The Wisconsin side is 1,330 acres and Minnesota park is 298 acres. There are structures and rustic style buildings on the Minnesota side of the park that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. 

St. Croix River

This river is known as one of the cleanest and most beautiful riverways in the country. The river provides a safe area for kayaking and canoe adventures. The river is about 169 miles long and the scenic surroundings make it a great place to relax and explore with the families. It is a National Scenic Riverway under the protection of the National Park Service. 

Folsom House

The Folsom house is now a historic museum located in Angel’s Hill historic district of Taylors Falls. It was home of the 9th-century home of Lumber Baron W.H.C. Folsom. He was a politician and business that had this house constructed for his family in 1855. He was community leader and served as a state representative and six-term state senator.

The boating company offers daily excursions, luncheons, dinner, historical, and specialty cruises. It is a wonderful way to learn about the area while cruising around with friends and family. The cruises are most enjoyable in the warmer months of the year. 

Ice Age National Scientific Reserve

Established in 1964, The Ice Age National Scientific Reserve was created to protect the glacial landforms and landscapes in Wisconsin. It is a fascinating area where you can observe the landforms that were created as a result of the Wisconsin glaciation during the last glacial period. 

Osceola & St Croix Valley Railway

The railway is open from May through October. Another great way to relax and discover the area surrounding Taylor Falls. There are special offerings on holidays, and some will include brunch and dinner. It’s a 20-mile journey along the bluffs of the St, Croix River, over the Cedar Bend Bridge, and into Marine on St. Croix. 

Franconia Sculpture Park

The park is an outdoor museum and nonprofit arts organization operating on 43-areas of unique, outdoor sculpture art. It is located in the scenic St. Croix River Valley and features masterpieces from active artist residency and community arts programming. It serves over 40 artists each year and hosts around.150,000 annual visitors.

The wildlife park is family owned and operated since 1963. It is a family friendly atmosphere where everyone can pet and feed the deer. The park is also home to river otter, porcupines, woodchuck, raccoons, turtles, and a badger. 

When to go to Wildwood RV Park

The visitors favorite time to visit Taylor Falls is during the summer. The warm weather welcomes all the water and lake activities that everyone loves.  The most popular time to visit for water activities and other outdoor adventures begin in May and last through September. For the winter activity lovers, the area around Wildwood RV park is known to experience 50 inches of snow.  Snowboarding and fat tire biking are two of the favorite winter activities. Experience the snow starting in November.

Must-Have Things to Bring to Wildwood RV Park

Coming prepared to a new place is important.  With Wildwood RV Parks winter conditions, coming prepared during the winter months is crucial. Here are some things to be sure to have in addition to the available amenities and service options in the area. 

Water

Have plenty of water. List of Parks advises that you bring a couple of extra jugs than you normally would just to be safe. More is always better. 

Food/Snacks

Preparing for travel calls for proper food and snack packing. Trail mixes, bars, and other easy packing snacks are great options. 

Kitchen Utensils

Bring everything you will use daily to cook at home if you decide not to use the food options within walking distance of the RV site. (Ex. Cups, mugs, plates, bowls, forks, spoons, paper towels, wipes, knives. etc.) 

Maps in Physical and on Phone

Being sure you know how to navigate throughout the surrounding areas. Another precaution to ensure your safety and enjoyment.

Tool Kit

Things happen and it is best to be prepared with all the tool necessities. Bring Allen or hex wrenches. Bring duct tape. Bring scissors. Bring rubber bands and zip ties. Bring plenty of towels you can use as noise buffers. Prepare and anticipate. 

Proper Attire

Pack for the time of year you will be visiting but come prepared with waterproof gear too. Sunglasses, sunscreen, and proper clothing for cooler night temperatures. A backpack meant for hiking will be a great idea if you plan on spending the full day on your feet.

Binoculars

With all the wildlife and vast landscapes to view, getting a zoom-in view can always enhance the experience.

Extra Fuel/Oils

Bringing a tank of gas and extra motor oil and transmission fluid will ensure that in case of an emergency, you will be set to get to the next best location. 

Toiletries

Bringing your toilet paper and everything to make you comfortable using the RV toilet for your trip. This is important.

Wildwood RV park is located with close access to many state parks, recreational areas, and small-town shopping. There are over 150 RV spots available that range in size and seasonal availability. There is full hook up sites that have gravel pull through spots with grassy areas. The site is known to be very clean, relaxing, and accommodating. The park amenities include a heated pool, basketball and volleyball courts, bike trails, playgrounds, and more.  They also provide FREE shuttles to Taylors Falls Canoe & Kayak Rental offered 7 days a week

Aside from your basic local grocery stores and gas stations nearby, there are many local favorite food spots. One of the favorites is The Drive-In Restaurant known for its classic burgers and other Americans style dishes.  Dangled Up in Blue is a finer dining location with some great local seafood dishes. For lounging and coffee, there is a local favorite spot, Coffee Talk.
